Growing up on the Wild West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand was a precursor to picking up a camera and capturing moments in time.
From the age of 16 I had a zealous passion for photography. Starting out studying in Christchurch for a diploma in Photography, I got a feel for film and tried my hand in the dark room, printing and developing my own photos.
From there I worked as a photographer for a local newspaper as well as shooting weddings, sports teams and portraits, but soon decided the New Zealand rugged wilderness was where I felt most at ease.
